They saying raising children takes a village, and today I'm excited to announce that Rachel from The Golden Hour Lactation is joining my village! Rachel and I are partnering to provide each maternity client at Silver Streak Photography with a free prenatal visit at The Golden Hour Lactation.

Rachel Curtis has been accompanying new families through the transition to parenthood for nearly a decade, first in the birth space as a doula, and increasingly in the breastfeeding realm. As an IBCLC, she has assisted mothers with breastfeeding in labor and delivery and postpartum units, in homes, and in community clinics. She finds watching women discover how amazing their bodies are through breastfeeding deeply fulfilling, as well as witnessing couples learn to parent together, grow closer and become stronger. 

Your free prenatal appointment with Rachel at The Golden Hour will cover setting realistic expectations for the first weeks postpartum, screening for mental health and lactation risk factors, a breast exam, fitting for flanges, latching, positioning, and guidelines for the first days of feeding your baby though the colostrum phase. This information can easily fill two sessions, and those who would like more time to discuss these topics are welcome to schedule a second visit at 36 weeks. (Many insurances cover these.)
